We're Back, & Continuing to Move Forward

We took a little break....

Herman earned a cruise, so we were able to spend 6 days thawing-out in the Bahamas, Grand Turk & Miami.
But now it's back to reality...

This is the driveway at our rental house in Ely.  Mary Lou says she feels like a bobsled driver when she's maneuvering the Tacoma in and out of our little garage. Can't wait for the nice DOUBLE (heated) garage at the new house!

Here are a few photos of the house.  The sheetrock is basically done and the taper is finishing up.  The walls will be primed and painted in the next couple of weeks. The paint colors are all decided thanks to the design team of Ramona & Mary Lou.  All the lighting has also arrived - from various online purchases and through a showroom in Duluth. All the tile is delivered and waiting in the garage.  The carpet guys are coming to measure this week. Cabinets and vanities are at the building center ready to be delivered.  Most bathroom fixtures are installed.  The fireplace is installed and the field stone is being added right now. The goal still is to move in at the end of March if all continues on track. The pace is really fast right now... Mary Lou is starting to pack!

Kozy Heat "Minnetonka" - propane fireplace.

Getting mudded and ready for the field stone.
This is a view from the top of the stairs.

The kitchen/dining room area.

The siding will need to wait for warmer weather - it's tucked under a tarp and will be applied after we move in.

The Hot Dawg propane heater in the garage is vented out the side wall.

The snow IS melting in the last day or so with some of the warmer temperatures we're having. Herman did some roof-raking a couple of weeks ago.  Managing the snow was a huge task for the builder - he plowed our road numerous times this winter and did a nice job of keeping a clear path to the house for all the workers and delivery trucks.

More later from our neck of the woods!  Thanks for reading our update!
